Hangzhou – Paradise above, Hangzhou below.

I traveled far and long to all corners of the world, but it is the first time I truly fall in love. Hangzhou, a city where love abides and friendship is a guest, is surely home, and home, sweet home for there the heart can rest. It is recognized as one of the seven ancient capitals of China and was the largest city in the world from 1180 to 1315 and from 1348 to 1358. Hangzhou is full of ancient treasures and modern wonders.  Westlake is located in the middle of the city and offers a peaceful place to rest which hasn’t changed much since countless Emperor’s, poets, philosophers, artists, politicians or simple citizens walked along its shores since ancient times to enjoy its breathtaking beauty. Behind the Westlake, local farmers cultivate the world famous Longjing tea. I had the pleasure to taste it and since that moment never wanted to try another tea.  Further behind the hills, the vast Xixi wetlands invite to a boat ride along its many canals through an untouched ecological habitat. Hangzhou marks the end of my China journey. Never would I have known what a harmonious society in perfect harmony between ancient culture and modernity I would find during my travel. A truly treasure in the world and next holiday destination for everyone. We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.

Beijing – The future capital of the world

People’s Republic of China’s capital is a stunning display of the future. A perfect combination of China’s rich and ancient culture and China’s growing prosperity and modernity. It is blessed with unbelievable cultural monuments: Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall at Badaling, Summer palace, and countless more.

First time China

I just arrived in Shanghai and I was absolutely stunned of this city. A city more modern, beautiful and harmonious than any city I ever saw before. A melting pot of  eastern and western culture, ideas and technology. Absolutely breathtaking.
